Howdy Folks,

Who out there knows how many "TR2s" were mfg.

"LONG DOOR" = ___________________:

"SHORT DOOR" = __________________:

There were a "TOTAL" of (8,628) TR2s made:

Thanx Very Much,

Russ

The "short-door" was introduced around TS4002, according to the latest Piggott book. So figure around 4001 short-door and 4637 4635 (thanks for catching the typo, Randy!) long-door cars (Piggott and others give the total as 8636).

Whoop, whoop, math police, pull over Mr. Mace - I believe that is 4001 long-door and 4635 short-door cars. Thank you and have a nice day!

Don't know if this throws a monkey wrench into the number of TR2s, but there were 22 Francorchamps made, and it appears that they used numbers within the TR2 range. Supposedly, sixteen are still known to exist.

Bill Lynn, VTR's membership secretary, is the unofficial, official keeper of the list of surviving TR2s worldwide. According to Bill, of the reported build numbers of 8636 TR2s, there are just 321, in some cases barely recognizable, remaining in the world. Of that 321 in the world, only 86 are in the USA. I am proud to say that my TS981 is the 29th oldest in the US and the 81st oldest in the world! I am pretty sure that a note to Bill at the envyable address of triumphtr2@aol.com will get you a copy of that list.

Folks, Lou's post got me to thinking. With all of this "registry" about, is there any way that I can see if an old friend in Washington, DC still owns TS509L?

I met him at Main Treasury in the early 1980s, and he had 509 home in his garage.

Thanks in advance. Surely (don't call me Shirley), I should be able to find this out WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY A FEE!

If he plans for a ground up / body off restoration even free will be expensive!!

George, I looked at a few side screen registrys and TS509 is among the MIA. Due to the negative search results the normal fees will be waived.
