Nice car. Probably the only one that I like seeing whitewalls on.

Looks very decent. A few "incorrect" bits as purists go (Should have a painted black valve cover, has later style round tail light lenses, should be square) but just stupid superficial nit-picky stuff that really doesn't matter. Overall a very nice clean looking car.
I always wondered why they went from the cable release bonnet latches, to the quarter turn Dzuse fasteners. I guess it was for cost.
I agree, the whitewalls are classy.
Good "heads up"

Only the very early cars had the "square" taillamps; according to Piggott, the change was at TS1307 from the L525 to the L594 lamps.

Me? I don't much care for the red seats in the otherwise black interior. I like the red brake drums (not stock but a "look" I've long appreciated) and the whitewalls, but I don't like the chrome wire wheels. But that's me!

As for going to the Dzus fasteners on the bonnets, I'll wager there are any number of TR4/5/6 owners over the years who wish Triumph had stayed with Dzus fasteners for those bonnets! :wall:

Huh... I learn something every day. Well, my search for taillight lenses just got much cheaper and easier.
Thanks Mr. Mace....hehehehe

Finding the L525 lens is a piece of cake compared to finding the lamp base and especially the rim, which was pretty much unique to the early TR2. The rest of the lamp was pretty common on British cars of the late 1940s and early 1950s such as the early MG-TD and was a common "add-on" taillamp in the later 1950s when UK lighting regulations changed and many older cars were "upgraded" thusly. Also on the TR2, the rear fender profile changed slightly, as did some inner rear fender structure. The L525 lamp base set into the body a bit, requiring a small "cavity" area, while the later L594 is pretty much a "surface mount" lamp.

OK, I'll stop now with the minutia....

Seriously, thanks for the info. I always like to know the little stuff like that.
