TR2/3/3A TR on Dr. Blake Mysteries

I enjoy watching Dr. Blake. I also enjoy trying to figure out what cars are on each episode.

His car, I'm told is a Standard Nine. In some of the other episodes, there are scenes with a whole collection of British cars parked along the main street.

Another good show is Father Brown. There are frequently very nice T-series cars, and an occasional Healey 3000, on that show.

Glad to see there are some discerning Americans that appreciate TV shows other than US dramas where guns feature.
I have visited Dr Blake's home town of Ballarat many times...It is an iconic town part of Australia's gold rush heritage.
The show also has Holden's, an Australian/General Motors developed car that began its development in 1948.

We watch a lot of PBS and one of the benefits is there are so many British cars in them. We have also noticed that some of them are regulars in different shows.
BTW - has anyone else noticed that in the show "A place to call home" the central 2nd story window on the main house that the left shutter is hanging at an angle looking like it might be tending to fall off?

Our PBS stations air a number of British and Australian TV programs. At the moment the other Australian series that is being broadcast is Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. What seems strange to me is that at the end of the episodes, an announcement is made that "If you would like to buy this or other BBC programs you can order them at..." I don't see how either of these are BBC programs unless the BBC (instead of ABC) is licensing them for use by PBS.

As for the appearance of guns in U.S. dramas, I don't watch any of the current U.S. police dramas to compare programs. However, there are a fair number of guns appearing in both Doctor Blake and Miss Fisher but admittedly there is probably a lot less gore and bloodshed.

Regarding the Holdens.... What is the future for the Holden and Toyota factories? I remember reading that the facilities were closing.

A "modified" 1935 Triumph 9, I believe.

As stated in your previous post, it is a Standard 9. Standard didn't become Triumph or Standard Triumph until 1945.
