Ab - are you set up to do the throttle linkages yet? I need something for a single throttle body on a custom manifold, and it's giving me hives trying to figure out a neat mounting solution.
Your cable linkage is going to be 1/2 the battle. I'd just need to figure out a bracket for the front then.
I'll be going out to RATCO on Sat. Email me some pictures of the setup and I'll try to figure something out. Is this going on a TR6 with one Carb.? Are you using the existing peddal setup? crevabjm@optonline.net
It's a custom manifold with a 4.6L throttle on the front (radiator) side. No carbs - this is for EFI. I figured I could use your cable (or similar) from the lever and then I'd have to get a mount fabbed to actuate the butterfly - I'll show you on the pics when I get home tonight.
I also have a Mk4 Spit pedal which is my fallback position...
I'm please to announce that Rat-co is now a supporting vendor here at BCF. Please visit their site via the link (banner) at the top of the forum pages when it appears.
Alana, Lokar has a bracket for Ford throttlebodies that I'm ordering for my 5.0L TB. Last time I had a 4.6L & 5.0L TB next to each other they looked close enough that it should work for yours as well.
Ab,
Were the brackets that you use for the TR6 a custom design or were they stock brackets available on the market place? Too, because the stock setup is push-pull and cable is pull-pull, does the carb springs need to be be either beefed up or auxilliary springs added?
Really interested in converting my triple ZS setup to cable if at all possible.
Bill,
The brackets that I used were my own design. If you are using the original peddal assembly with the peddal-rod-lever than you can use that bracket, as far as the carb side the bracket that I made is for Weber DGV's. We are making a different bracket that wil be for all three twin carb setup's. I have a friend that has a triple ZS set up in his garage, I'll ask him if I can borrow it and see what I can come up with. If you want you can PM me your email and I'll give you an update as to what we come up with this weekend. OK?
Alan, I got your mail. I tryed to send back but it was returned. I have some ideas already, just need some time time to do some thinking. I'll be in touch.
Ab: I want to get a throttle cable setup just like yours. I am using the early ZS CD175 on a triple manifold arrangement and the throttle shafts rotate just like your Webers. Sell me one!
Please. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
Ok, as luck would have it I was at RATCO today and gave the design for the new btacket to Tony. We are making the CAD drawing this week and plan to make brackets on Sat. the 18th. Email me your information and I will get back to you with a price for the kit. That goes for anyone interested in this kit. I need your carburator type so that you get the right bracket. Also remember this upgrade will only work with the original gas peddal setup. Any quqestions contact me via email or PM
I was also at RATCO today, and saw the setup that Ab had on his car. The cable assembly that he is using in this kit is an absolute work of art. This is a high quality item. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
Add me to the list of TR6 owners interested in your cable conversion. I have the standard pedal box, standard linkage and triple weber carb conversion.
