TR6 TR-6 Flywheel balancing

Installing the HDVA Toyota conversion. Planning to have the stock flywheel lightened and have it and a new pressure plate balanced. Is the balancing required? I found a machine shop that will lighten it per the Vizard drawing referenced in another post, but can't find anyone to balance the assembly.

Didn't want to spend the money, but I'm also considering the Fidenza aluminum flywheel. If I buy it, will it and the pressure plate I have need to be balanced?

Thanks for your help!

David,

My Fidanza flywheel was in perfect balance, but the mew LuK pressure plate was not, so I would recommend having each piece check and balanced. It does make a difference and the time to do it is when everything is apart, rather than to regret not doing it later.

Most racing engine machine shops can do the balancing as they do cranks and dampers all day long. I also had my damper and water pump balance along with all of the internal goodies.
