TR2/3/3A TR-4 Sealing Block

Hi, I traced a oil leak back to the front sealing block. The engine is a 64 TR-4. Should the oil pan bolt be 5/16-18? It has a semi stripped 3/8-16 in it now. I have new pan gasket and the two Tee shaped gaskets. Any recommendations for a gasket sealer?

Thanks, Roy

While you are down there make sure the front engine plate is not warped or bowed.
In my TR the DPO did not install the front main bearing cap correctly and the front face of the cap was protruding past the front of the engine block. This bowed the front plate enough to cause a leak that seemed to be from the front sealing block.
For gasket sealant I use Permatex Aviation-Form-A-Gasket No.3
Yes the sump attach bolts are 5/16" X 18.

However, don't forget that one bolt is shorter than the rest. Supposed to be 5/8" long, which you won't usually find at a hardware store.
