TR4/4A TR-4 cylinder head push rod tubes

I have a friend who has a TR-4 that leaks oil by the pushrod tubes in the cylinder head. He bought new tubes that are aluminum and now is trying to figure out how to install the tubes when he takes the head off. The question is; how to install and seal the tubes in the head? J-B Weld will crack over time because of dissimular metals. Thanks, Bill C. Mesa, Az.

Originally they were swaged in place, and as noted, the aluminum ones frequently leaked. You'll probably have to turn a tool to re-swage them.

I've heard that washing in Gumout or similar followed by flowing the penetrating version of Loctite around the joint will sometimes seal them without disassembly, but as yet I've not had the problem.

I've performed Randall's advisement and it worked. I didn't do the Gumout procedure as I'd just received the head back from a machine shop. I must admit that I didn't replace the tubes, I did the sealing procedure as a preventative measure.
