When we converted the 250 to a Surrey Top, we had to replace the original windscreen capping with one from a TR-4. This cap is not in the best of condition and I would like to replace it. Does anyone know if these aluminum windscreen caps have been reproduced?

Frank, you need to get yourself over to Armagh, PA to the Roadster Factory. It's about 30 miles due east of Pittsburgh.
(I didn't know Pittsburgh had an "h" on the end, darn spellcheck)
It's a Disneyland of British car parts. I went from Louisiana to Pennsylvania just to visit them once. Worth the trip.

Bill: Don't misunderstand, but I've been to TRF many times over the years, BUT not recently. I do appreciate the suggestion, because I didn't know they had offered the alum. capping. In the past, this was a very hard, almost impossible part to find. In the summer of 1986 we moved back to PA, when I joined Westinghouse Corp. Of course their HQ was Pittsburgh. So, I took advantage of visiting TRF. I had known Charles R for a number of years. He had been advertising and selling TR parts out of the classifieds in the back of Road & Track magazine. Boy do I miss that mag. Also, Dave Hagenbuch and I developed a friendship and although I don't see him too often we both talk a couple of times a year. I have fond memories of the grand tour of "the farm" and "the barn" with all it's very rare, NOS parts. I recall the auction during the first TRF Summer Party in 1986, when a NOS aluminum windscreen cap did not meet its reserve even though the bids had reached over $200. Cheers

Frank,

Bill's avatar is Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a recurring character from Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Triumph is a sarcastic, irritating, and insulting dog puppet. I love the guy.
