Afternoon, will be needing a battery for my car soon. I don't figure I can go into the local auto parts place and pick one up, so ........................
Where to buy and what to buy.
Also what is the best way to get the cable helmets screwed into the posts.
As always your thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

If I recall correctly it's just a standard group 24 battery available practicaly anywhere. As far as screwing the helmet type terminals on I've just used short sheet metal screws.

Nothing very special about the battery. A group 24 ( Maybe 24a with reversed posts) will work fine. If you are using the original TR battery terminal caps with a screw, use a 1/2" wood screw and you battery drill to set the screws into the posts.

I'll add that if you aren't averse to shopping at Wal-Mart -- I've always found their batteries to be pretty good deals and the exchange (if needed) a no-hassle transaction.

If you round up some old battery caps you can even make a faux-Lucas looking version out of it:
