TR2/3/3A TR 3A Lift The Dot Studs

Afternoon all, I have been away from the Forum for over four months dealing with eye operations and other fun health problems. I am happy to say that things are returning to normal. I have uncovered my 60 TR 3A and am ready to get after it! YEA!
Question though. I am going to install my LTD studs and am wondering about washers. I feel that I need to put something down to protect the finish and keep them from getting loose. I found no mention of them in the part book. Moss mentions Leather, plastic, plain and lock washers. I have plain, plastic and stainless lock washers. What should I use?

As always any thoughts or ideas will greatly appreciated!

I used clear plastic washers under mine to protect the paint. Can't see them once installed.

Same as Peter here. The plastic ones seem to be the least offensive and most durable.

Thanks, makes sense to me.
