I am winding down on a long term TR-3A restoration. Took it apart long ago and had good notes and saved nuts and bolts but can't find the baggee for the hood prop. I can figure it out if need be but does anyone know-does the hood prop bracket slide over the studs on hood (metal to metal)then get washer, then lock washer, then nut? Do you happen to know the nut size and thread count? Thanks Tom

I can't answer your question but a tip to stop the hood prop from rattling is to add a rubber o-ring to the mix of hardware.

Tom, yes the hood stay bracket slides over the two captive bolts. It goes hard against the hood cross brace.

Set it back as far as possible - check that the safety latch pin can't chip the apron duco.

Mine only has flat washers - no lock washers, but I can't be certain if it was that way originally.

Sorry, there's too much paint on the fixings to give you a thread count.

Regards,

Viv.

10-32, I think... Mine had two star-locks under the nuts. No plain washers.

Thanks all. I appreciate folks taking a few moments to help. I pick the car up from the exhaust shop this weekend and bolt all the fenders, apron, hood, trunk, doors on for the final time> Add the windshield and it wil look like it did only better when I first built it from a wreck in 1967!
