TR2/3/3A TR 3A Hand Brake Trim Out

I have two metal-trim out pcs for the hand brake. They are finished in a gloss black. Do they go on after the rug is down or before? Near as I can tell, they are there to hold the rubber mouldings down. As I have mentioned before this was a basket case when I bought it. Needless to say I am approaching that point myself. Had I taken it apart I might have remembered some of this stuff goes............

Thanks, Tinkerman

I believe they gone on the rubber, before the carpet is in. At least, that's how I did it.

This is from my TR4 but similar to the TR3 and is original to the car:

Thanks Geo, confirms my thinking. Really appreciate the picture, even shows me what type of fastner to use !

Cheers, Dick

Dick...

I recently finished installing the handbrake grommet and the metal hold down pieces. It took some aggressive stretching of the rubber to get it to conform to the shape of the metal piece. I had to relocate a couple of the holes to get it to fit right also. How about a couple more photos...

Looks great Rick. It answers some questions for me about the fit on my boot. Mine does not fit well and I have heard others say the same about their boot. You did a nice job so it gives me a target to shoot for. I know what I will be doing this morning. Heh................
Love the color by the way.

Thanks, Dick
