TR2/3/3A TR-3 tube or tubeless-Tire Experts?

Any tire experts out there? I am having Dayton make wider wire wheels for one of my three TR-3. Tire technology has certainly changed. I have put Beta fenders on the rear and can run either 15 or 16 wheels tubeless BUT the front wheels can only be 5 inches wide and Dayton can only make 15 inch as tubeless. The 16 inch must have tubes. Any tire experts as to running radials with tubes. Todays tire technology leans to lower profile tires. Car has Mustang II front end rack with coil overs. Rear is 3.5 posi with four link. Coil overs all around. Big drilled and slotted brakes.

I'm certainly no tire expert and your mods put you way past my techncial level -- but I'll say that I have used tubes in radials for 38 years with no problem I have ever attributed to that combination.

I'm no expert either, but IMO you will be fine as long as you stay away from the load limit for your tires. Generally that's no problem with a TR3. However, there is a chance the shop will refuse to mount tubeless tires with tubes in them, in which case you'll need to look for a different shop.

The problem is that the tubes cause more heat to build up in the tires, so the tires need to be derated for use with tubes. But the tire makers don't publish the derating factor (probably because the DOT won't let them).
