Anyone bought tires for there TR3 recently? I need tires and have been looking for 175/80r15, 165/80r15 or 185/70r15 and can't seem to find them any where. Checked the usual places Tire Rack, Tire Buyer, Tires Plus and Goodyear, any helpful tips would be appricated

Frank,

I have a set of Vredestein Sprint+ 165R15 for sale. They have less than 3,000 miles on them and were purchased new on 9/26/09.

I am asking $60 for each. They are listed on the Classified section of this site.

If interested, send me a private email.

Frank IMHO the 185/65 15 Yoko is the best choice for the 3/ early 4 the lower aspect lets you use the wider tire without body rub yet retains the circumference of the pitiful original bias tire. If you have wire wheels, Make sure that you find all the inspection tags on the inside of the new tire. The tube will eventually chaff and leak if you dont.

And also clean off any residual stick-um left on the inner casing after you have removed the label.

Affordable Tire and Break (503-235-1818) in Portland, set of 4 Fuzion 185/65 15 Tires for $299.96 They also suggested Nankang's. They have the best prices in the Portland area.

Will the 185/65 15 work on both the original steel wheels, and 60 + wire wheels. Currently have the original steel wheels and thinking of buying wire ones in a year or two.

What are best size wire wheels to get? Moss's website recomends their heavy duty 15" x 4.5", 60 spoke (item #454-630), but have been told the more spokes the better and the 15" x 5", 72 spoke (item #454-660) also work. Is this true?

I have been very satisfied with the Vredestein 165 R 15 Sprint tires I bought 26,000 miles ago in August 2004. They really grip well. I think I still have about 50% of the tread left. See photo taken a few months ago.
