I just had a TR-3 and a TR-4 nose badges rechromed. Chrome is nice but they buffed alot of the blue and alot of the white off. Does anybody know where I can find the proper white and blue paint to fill in the buffed out color? Thanks, Bill C, Mesa, Az
 
Those little pockets are not filled with paint. They are done using the Cloisonne process. They call it "enamel", but it is a true glass. I suppose you could use some paint.

Edit: There are places such as this that restore auto badges, but I have no idea how much they get. I have a feeling that the cost would be similar to just bying a new one from TRF. BTW, they have them on sale now for the princely sum of $169. :sick:

Hmm, that Wiki article makes it sound like it's not too terribly difficult. "boric acid, saltpetre and alkaline" ... I could do that (I think the article left out ground glass).

But it might be easier with modern plastics.
