TR2/3/3A TR-3 COMMISSION NR & OD?

The British Heritage certificate for my 1958 TR-3(TS/38984-L) says that the car was equiped with OD. The car when I acquired it did not have OD. There is no OD wiring and and aftermarket switches on the dash (electric fan), so don't know if there was an OD switch.

Were there unique commission number endings for OD equiped cars? Or has a PO changed the transmission? Or an error in the certificate?

Thanks, Bob Burt

I thought OD equipped cars were identified from the factory, in your case TS38984LO. Perhaps it is a mistake on the BMHT certificate....

I would e-mail them and ask them about the discrepency. I found a typo on mine and they were very good about checking the records again and fixing it.

Me too (had an error the first time around). They promptly sent me a correct replacement certificate.

My impression is that they are trying to read a fuzzy microfiche image of a 3x5 card that rode down the line with the vehicle getting scrawls of info as it went (along with tea stains, grease spots and such).

Thanks, guys. I found an earlier thread that mentioned the "O" sequencer for OD equiped cars. I'll e-mail the Heritage folks.
