For those of you who have made the conversion to the toyota 4-pot brake calipers what pads are you running? Anyone else with pad suggestions fire away.
 
I'm interested too.

I've not yet done this, but I've got all the parts and once I put the suspension back under my car this will go on it (though "it" is an Austin-Healey 3000 and not a TR - but they both used the same Girling Caliper).

The pads I have I believe are the stock Toyota ones:

and I haven't found any UK suppliers of alternatives. I do not believe that many were imported here.

EBC list one for the Toyota application, but I've not tried to get any, and wouldn't be able to comment on their effectiveness for a coupke of years until the project gets finished....
 
Brake pads can be a real funny thing. I replaced the pads on my Miata with ones from the local auto parts store, and they hardly worked. I mean I couldn't get them to slow the car down anywhere near the way it did with the old pads. I went to the dealer and bought a set of OE pads, and everything was back to normal. I've experienced this on several other cars that I've had. Sometimes the after market stuff will work, sometimes it won't. I know there will be an extra cost involved, but get the OE pads. At least this way you will know how they are supposed to perform from the get go. BTW, on my ongoing TR3 resto, I put on the Toyota calipers, and WILL put on the OE Toyota pads, despite the fact that we rebuild calipers here at work, and I got free pads with the free calipers. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
 
I'm using Carbotech Bobcats for the street and Carbotech Panther Plus on the track. Very limited use so far as I have just been tool'n around in the TR6/M3 without the body panels on it still. Have used these pads in the past on other vehicles and have been very satisfied. (Toyota Fronts, Wilwood Rear)

BTW, the Bobcats are designed more for the street application and have a better low heat friction coefficient. Plus a lot less dust.

If they work for you i'm sure they will work for anyone. I've read your posts on the UK triumph site about "terrorizing" your neighbors I believe.

Do you use one of the stock sets they list for one of the other Toyota models, or do you have them custom made with backplates you supply?
