When's the last time you saw one? I went over to see how my friend Paul was getting on with the front oil seal leak in this GT6 and saw this. Even at a race with lots of cool stuff, this is a rare bird! And the owner was racing it....not just displaying it. This one was one of the Shelby team cars back in the day (it was apparently the test mule). Very fast and well-driven by current owner Bob Tkacik. He told me he used to own seven of them! (see his business card). I have some track side video of it I'll post later. He'll be bringing it to Lime Rock for the Festival.

WOW! That is amazing, and what a gorgeous car! As an aside, one of the things that continues to fascinate is people who can take an interest (or hobby - or just a gap in the market) and turn it into a business - like our own Peter L and Jeff S. we were driving yesterday from Newport News to Alexandria via Chesapeake and passed a Porsche restoration shop in the middle of beach country - cool!

Very cool! Never seen one in person, just in pictures. Great that he's still racing it.

Nope. Although I clearly remember being wowed by seeing the one in the James Bond movie, I've never seen one in the flesh either. What a good looking vehicle - great lines.

He's right down the road from me... Biddeford, is not the kind of town that you'd expect to see a car like that.
His website used to be full of unbelievable cars. Not sure why he took it all down.

Was at LRP on Saturday. I was amazed to see the race car in the paddock. Only place I ever saw one was on the cover of R&T.

Just as cool in the flesh as I always thought it would be. Then I looked around the transporter area a little more carefully and saw they had a street one as well. Two of these within 20 ft of each other. What are the odds?

A few years ago my wife and I walked into Hymans Ltd. in St. Louis, MO. I was looking for a Jag and we were shown what was in stock. Mr. Hyman asked the wife what car she liked most and she pointed to a white Toyota parked along wall. He said she has good taste as it was the most expensive car he had. Toyota 2000 GT. she didn't get it.

I remember sitting in one, back in 1975,at Walnut Creek Toyota.
I was told that it for sale - for $5,000! I didn't have that kind of money
back then.
I helped out a couple on the 2013 California Mille, when there fuel-
pump broke,on their '57 Corvette.I gave the owner a ride to the nearest
parts store,in our '67 MGB GT - that made my day.
Anyway, the Corvette owner's Wife said "I wish we'd brought our other car".
I asked what that might be.She replied "A Toyota 2000GT".I was floored!

I also saw that car at Watkins Glen. Perhaps the car that facinated me the most. Only ever saw one other aorund 1969 at a Toyota dealer on Rt 31 in NJ.
