Opps I hit the wrong button ,I have a new computer and still trying do make it work. The problem is that the new tonneau cover does not fit just right. the peg on the door does not line up right. The numbers are all correct (top to car) It is the correct top for this car. The doors are original, has any body seen this before? I can move the peg and put a nice screw in the hole until I repaint both doors.

Yup, I've got exactly the same problem. Part of the problem is that there are at least 4 different patterns of tonneau cover, but only two of them are available. According to the numbers TRF gives, your car falls in one of the ranges that is not available.

But my car is earlier, the cover is supposed to fit, and there is still no way it will cover that front peg. Judging by the photo on Moss' web site, perhaps that is the way it is supposed to be?

Me too, me too! That's exactly the way my tonneau fits.
I have seen pictures of the correct tonneau for our cars. Instead of being rounded like the one in the pic, above, it almost comes to a "point" at the stud that none of us can reach with our rounded tonneaus.
 
When I bought my TR3A in May 1958, I did not order the tonneau cover. A few years later, a fellow who had an accident (totaled) his TR3, sold me his tonneau cover for $25.00. The cover never fitted onto that tirst peg on the door. But a few years ago, I picked up some quality vinyl and had a guy who sews leather add new strips onto the top front down to that spot and a bit more. Now I have these snaps which are in line with the pegs. He also sewed in a new zipper for me and an over-flat to keep the rain out the TR through the zipper. This long zipper over-flap is sewed onto one side and held in place on the other side with long Velcro strips.
 
Now I don't feel so alone, Thanks Guys for the information. I think that I will add a new peg at the right location then fill the old holes later.
 
You might want to check how your sidecurtains fit, before adding a new peg. At one time, TRF claimed that was why the front peg moved (although that doesn't explain my car).

I have an old tonneau and that peg fits fine. My problem is with the peg on the top of the dogleg. I'll post this afternoon if I get a chance.
 
The original tonneau to my '60 3A fits well the whole way around.
 
Here is the peg behind the door on my 1958 TR3A. Notice how low it is compared to the photo in the reply down below.

Note in Don's second photo how the side curtain (almost) touches the lowered front peg. My concern is that, if that peg moves upwards for the (wrong) tonneau to reach, then the side curtain will have to rest on top of the peg, throwing things out of line.

And just for clarity, my previous comment about "how they are supposed to fit" was in reference to the reproduction tonneau covers not fitting properly. IOW, they are deliberately making them wrong. I'm certain that the original covers fit all the pegs.

So far, so good. I was a little concerned over the dampness around the LR shock, but it was apparently just thrown over there from the leaking pinion seal. The shock only took a couple squirts of fork oil, which is pretty good considering I didn't refill it when moving it from the wrecked 3A.

Now if I can just shake this darn cold ...
