I'm 37 and just bought the Spitfire I wanted when I was 17. Don't know a thing about them other than I've always loved the way they looked. Not much of a motor head but I'm not afraid to get under the hood and get dirty. My 1970 Triumph MK111 (that's what the title says, not even sure what that means) drives, but needs plenty of TLC. Daily driver for now. Going to work on it a little at a time.

Welcome, Mike! I'm not too far away from you, here in Clarksville.

The Spitfire is a great choice to learn on - wonderful little cars, and the earlier ones like yours are the more desirable. As you've no doubt already learned, this is a great place for info on your car, and even commiseration when things don't go according to plan.

Pictures are a must, by the way...

Let me know if this link to a pic works.

Not for me. Problem appears to be that Shutterfly wants me to sign in before I can view your photo.

Mike.
Welcome to the site.
Send some pics when you get time.
Heck.... I was 50 when I finally picked up the Brit. car I wanted when I was 17........
You are way ahead of the game.
Have a great time here

I found the galleries and posted a couple pics in the Triumph gallery. The post is titled 1970 Spitfire - Mike McDavid

You can also post pics in a post here in the forum per the video I linked to.

Welcome aboard, Mike! :savewave:

Looks like you're starting off with a good running example.

This bunch will help keep ya goin'. Pay attention 'cause this place moves fast, about as quick as any forum on <span style="font-style: italic">any</span> topic onna 'net.

I use a variant of the method in Basil's video, with PhotoBucket as the host site. Start by going to https://register.photobucket.com/step1/index and creating an account with them for yourself. Be sure to find and click the "No thanks" link when they try to get you to pay (the screen that says "Store More, Share More with PRO"). Then follow the prompts to upload your photos to their site, arrange in folders and whatever else you would like to do.

Once that's done, you'll have a home page on their site that looks something like this:
https://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh260/TR3driver/
If you position your mouse over one of the thumbnails, there should be a little popup screen titled 'Share', and towards the bottom is "IMG Code". Click in the box with the IMG code, and press Ctl-C.

Now navigate back to your BCF post, and press Ctl-V. While composing your BCF post, you'll just see a link surrounded by
(this is the magic text that Basil was typing). But when you preview, or click Submit, the photo will automagically appear. For example, while typing this, I see [\IMG]https://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh260/TR3driver/DSCF0008dimmed.jpg[/IMG] (without the "\") but the post will look like
