Well sad news, I have totally written off my TR6. A lady cut me off and I T Boned her. I decided not to buy it back, took the cash out from the insurance and purchased a 77 MGB in pristine condition. I guess I will have to move over to the dark side LOL

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
DAN

MGB's are nice cars. I hope that you enjoy it.

Stop back, we'll still be here........

Unless Paul sells his car and relives his youth and buys a "merican" muscle car.

Sorry for your loss!

I have a target painted on my car that says "HIT ME"
<span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">Or at least cut me off!</span></span> :troll:

Drivers seem to be more careless than ever. So many are crossing the center line like it is only a suggestion to stay on their own side. Sunday Shirley and I had a semi truck round a corner more than halfway into our lane. I was already looking over the ditch for an escape route when he finally pulled it into his own lane. I have to admit to indicating my opinion!

IMHO, much of this can be attributed to cell phones and other hand-held devices used whilst driving. :wall: :madder:

I'm seriously considering a set of air horns for the 3A. These old Lucas windtone horns are useless next to a late model whatever with the windows closed, a/c on and stero playing boom-boom music!!! :madder:

I have an "AWWHHHOOOOOGAAAAA HORN" on mine, It's one of the best saftey features on the car!!! VERY LOUD!

kodanja, what kind of awooga do you have? is it a wolo?
Rob
ps-cell phone users while driving drive me nuts! I am sooo tempted to blast my horn at every one of them! But then i'd be driving around with my horn on all the time.LOL

I found out about the dangers of voicing my opinions in an open car. A while ago I was out for a drive in the TR3 when a SUV pulled out of a right hand side road in front of me as if I wasn’t there. He took a left turn directly in front of me and cut me off causing me to hit my brakes. I instinctively vocalized my thoughts on the subject in loud voice. That was when I saw the blue lights come on in my review mirror. Turns out that driver was a police officer in an unmarked police SUV and he heard me. Fortunately, after checking my license and registration and letting me sweat for awhile, he let me off with a warning. Now I know, regardless of the situation, to keep my thoughts to myself when I'm in an open roadster. You never know who that other driver might be!

Ummm, what was he warning you about? I would have looked forward to fighting that ticket in court. Just because he was in uniform doesn't give him the right to drive dangerously/illegally. He obviously wasn't on a call if he had time to stop you...

:iagree:

Sounds like he screwed up and when you called him on it he decided to use his "power" to enlighten you. That could be argued as harassment. If his lights weren't on, he's subject to the same rules as everyone else.
That trick sounds like it was done on purpose. Musta been havin' donut withdrawl or somethin'. :smirk:

And reading Brian's post just flat ANGERS me. Very sad.

typical gestapo jerk! :nonono:

First and foremost, I'm sorry to hear about your car, Brian, and I'm very glad you weren't hurt.

My recent trip as part of an escort for John MacCartney reminded me of how terrible most people drive. We were in a line of three cars for most of the trip -- a club member's TR6 in front, John and his Stag in the middle, and me bringing up the rear in my 250. Even to the casual observer, we were all together -- old cars, in a line, driving relatively close to one another. And yet at every opportunity, people cut in between us, sometimes cut between us just to cut across the lane we were in.

And at the risk of sounding paranoid, I often find that people are *worse* around old cars.

Be careful out there!

B.
