Hi Guys,
I hope you are all doing well. Today, I put the timing light on my 65 3000 and set it at 34 degrees total advance. My question is: is 34 degrees good or should I take it up higher? As always, I appreciate your help with this.

I set the total advance and let the static advance fall where it may. It should be very close if the advance mechanism is working.

Hi Marv,

When you refer to
“total advance” are you referring to dynamic advance. If so, are you using a timing light with an advance feature and timing off the top-dead-center pointer on the dynamic balancer?

All the best,
Ray (64BJ8P1)
