TR6 Torn Apart TR6

Dan,

Nothing here but a G-Mail link and I don't want any part of that. How do we get to your car?

Okay, here is the photo.

mail

Email the picture to me and I'll post it for you.

OKay, thanks Paul. I sent a coule of photos to your email address. I really need to get some step-by-step instructions how to load up pictures here. Honestly, I am usually adept at managing software, and have worked with databases, flash, built a website, etc., but this I can't do!?! I feel like the village idiot - but every village needs one.

There is instruction on this site somewhere. Or see TR69'spost

Alright, this is just driving me nutz. So, you can't add a picture directly, I learned you can imbed a link. S I went to a web site I host for my high school, and added a page to that website for a couple of photos. I used the tool to add the link to that new page with the photos, but still no picture. Maybe the address needs to end in "jpeg"? I guess I'll try setting up a regular photo page next.

Dan - we gave you the pic info a couple weeks ago. And you said it worked.

What's wrong now? Maybe you weren't actually saying it worked?

Here's a link to Basil's FAQ on how to add a picture link in a post:

https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/faq#image

If you're just trying to link a pic from another website, open that picture (not the page - the picture) in your browser. Then copy the URL address and paste it into your BCF post. There are more detailed instructions in the earlier thread where you first asked for help.

I think what happened in your first attempt in this thread is that you were adding a URL to an entire webpage. To add a picture, the URL should end in JPG, TIF, GIF, etc. That would pretty much guarantee that you're adding the link to the *picture* and not to the entire webpage.

Easiest way to do that is to get the properties of the picture (Windows - right click, choose properties). The actual URL of the picture will show up in the properties window. "Image" properties, not "Link" properties. Copy that (it's a long URL), and paste it into your post with the IMG tags as other guys have indicated.

Hope this helps.

Tom

Yeah, that is true that the I got one picture to upload - a tiny postage stamp size for my avatar. I thought that was done, but I have problems since. I'll go back and read that one more time, and try again. Thanks.

Woohoo. I think this is it. Below should be the car before it was torn apart.

And this should be with the car ready for restoration.

P.S. I have always been a late bloomer. Thanks everyone for your help. -d

Well, I am so happy to able to do this, here is another with the new rims (before being torn apart)

And the interior. I put the dash in myself when I was back in the US this summer.

EXCELLENT! We knew you could do it!

Congrats on the dash work. Looks great. What new rims did you buy? What source? Good price?

Tom

Those are Konig Rewind rims, and I bought/stole them off of eBay for $385. I also purchased TR stickers that fit on the hub, but they were so small, I lost them somewhere along my travels. I hope they turn up on my next trip, or I'll buy another set from TRF. They also make the same in gold, and gray with a silver polished rim. I had debated buying the latter, but settled on these.

I really like the original rims better with the trim rings, but had one bent steel rim and my mechanic convinced me I should just go with something trouble-free. I did find a set of NOS rims on eBay, and bid them up to $600 - that was enough for me.

At some point, I'll buy a replacement rim for the bent one.
