Got a buddy of mine who closed his shop a while back. I was helping him move some stuff to a storage unit today, and he asked if I'd like to "Baby-sit" his torches. Sure! I've been trying to set aside $$ to get the tanks for a long time.
I feel a lot more confident that I won't get stuck on any rusty jobs that I can't finish anymore. Sometimes there is no substitute for the blue-flame wrench.
 
I had loaned mine to my son, and two years later could not live without them. Too many uses for a good torch. So, I look on Craig's List for tanks......probably six blocks or less from me, two tanks, twice the size of mine, full, with a cart, gauges, hoses, and a whole box of handles and tips (some about antiques, but functional) for $300. I picked them up 4 minutes after the call.
 
Drayage isn't used any longer. They are your tanks, swapped with refilled tanks at the welding supply outlet.
Since they swap out tanks, any numbers on the tanks don't mean anything.
 
The one number that still means something is the date of last pressure testing on the oxygen bottle.
 
Tanks I got were purchased at the local welding supply store. I just stop in and have them refilled.They're up to date.
