It might be a bit too cold to ride with the top down -- but it's still fun driving these little cars. Here's mine taken back on Black Friday.

This is near Emmittsburg, MD. With the aircraft restoration operation in Fawn Grove shutting down, A new operation started here. This was my first trip out there. Emmittsburg is definitely closer -- 38 miles door to door through some wonderful back roads that are really where the Sprite excels.

You can also see the new downward-facing tailpipe that has saved me from 90% of the burning oil smell.
 
Pretty car. I like to see the stock wheels still being used. Where did you find the tailpipe extension? Everything I've found is way too large diameter and looks out of place.
 
I'll have to go look up the part number. I found it through JEGs. I had to cut the tailpipe down to a stub on the existing muffler. This one just bolts on, no welding needed.

Yes. Tinkering with planes is fun, especially with the group that I work with. It's predominantly older gentlemen. In Fawn Grove the average age was 84 or 85. We had a couple of World War II vets, still active. One of them is 92 years old and moves around like he's 20 years younger. Some of the guys are coming over to the Emmittsburg facility, and we have a couple of new faces, too. Being a new place, the decision was to start with a fairly small plane - a 1946 Commonwealth Skyranger -- as a way to figure out the logistics of the work area and learn to work as a team again. The nice thing about this place is it is close enough that I can take parts of the plane home and work on them in my own workshop, too.
