TR2/3/3A Top stick screws

I've had the hardtop on the tr3 through the winter and now that spring is here I can't find the screws for the top stick. Can anyone tell me the size of the screws or a source? Thank you
 
They're 1/4-28 thread, flat head slotted.
ISTR originals were only 5/8 or 3/4 long.
Tough to find in stores, but you could call any fastener suppliers in your area. I did once find a box of them in SS.

Or, TRF says they have some 1" long versions that will work, under P/N 517148 .
 
You got me curious, Graham, so I looked it up. The door bolts are the ones that were originally 5/8" long; the hood sticks were 3/4" long. TK4705/P vs TK4706/P

Also, McMaster-Carr has both sizes available (as well as 1" if you want to grind your own points), in either galvanized steel or stainless

Sorry, Graham, I didn't intend it as a criticism, nor to quibble about 1/8". Just wanted to look it up, mostly to refresh my own memory.
 
That's ok Randall I was only going on memory of what they look like whereas you have a wealth of knowledge and I tend to forget that others may look to the forum for facts and the information needs to be accurate. Please carry on your good work.

The depth of knowledge and memory of these old cars some people have amazes me.

Last Saturday a group of us were swapping a transmission on a MGB for a friend. None of the group were MGB owners so our knowledge of the MGB was minimal just Triumphs. When we got to rewiring the motor there were 2 wires that had no where to plug into? So one of the group called his buddy who is a MGB expert.
After a few minutes on the phone he said they are the reversing light wires and should not be in the engine bay but should go to the rear of the gear box. At some point in its life the wires had got misplaced and we just put it back the way it was till it got to plugging them in.
Following his directions the wires fit perfectly to the reversing light switch. All from memory.
