I just received a new top from AA Best Co and it was the wrong size for my '76.
Too small. Not happy at all. I heard the tops were smaller starting in 1977. Is this true? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Don't think so. Sounds like you have a pre-68 top

Make sure you loosen the 3 bolts on each side of the top frame before starting to replace it.
Keep the frame as low as possible.

4" is alot, but I don't recall any difference from '76, Moss lists the same top from '69 on.

Is or does the top bow compress?

Well it was a wild shot, the early MK I and IIs top bows compress and then spring up to tighten everything up when the top is erected. Sigh.

Have you contacted A.A. Best re the top not fitting?

Yes, I have and Acme tops contacted me. They had me take measurements of the top they sent me and my header. Sent them the measurements and waiting for there response.
