Where I attended college back in the 70s they did a green beer day to go along with St Patrick. Heard it mentioned this year was the 75th anniversary of the start of it. Personally I never saw the fun in getting up at 5am, skipping classes and spending the day drunk as so many did then. But to each their own.

I had to get up at 0500 to stand watch starting at 0600 without green beer, or any other color.

I get up about 5:45 these days to start work. I just couldn't see doing it for just the 3.2 beer they were allowed to sell at the time.
