I know I haven't been very active on the ol' forum lately (nearly 1000 unread messages on just the Triumph section for me... yikes!) been exceedingly busy with life and jobs and relationships and such...

Anyway. Thought I would share a recent drive. Sunday my girlfriend and I drove up Mount Evans (one of Colorado's 54 14,000+ foot mountain peaks). This is the highest paved road in North America and the parking lot just below the summit is 20 feet higher than the very top of Pikes Peak.

Other than being reluctant to start at the summit and not wanting to idle (something to do with a lack of Oxygen maybe /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif ) the TR8 ran great the whole time.

TR8 just 134 feet shy of the very top of Mt. Evans. (it wouldn't fit on the 1/4 mile long hiking trail that took you the rest of the way up) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

At the other end of the parking lot are the remains of a restaurant (it burned in 1979).

Looking out over Colorado from the top... You can see part of the road that brings you up here.

Welcome back, and you did it with some impressive pictures. I've eaten at that (ex) restaurant, many moons ago. Wonderful view from up there.

Hey Shawn!

Thanks for the photos. Here are a few more of your
beautiful state taken by Wendy two weeks ago during her visit.

Wendy hiked her legs off and I'm proud of her. She got to
see real snow and a real glacier. I am wearing a tee shirt
at sea level that was at elevation 11,796 feet in Colorado.
So was Wendy!!

Wendy had a blast and hopes to return next summer.

Some great pictures here. It's always exciting going to places with the classic. You kinda never know what's going to happen.

Nice photos. Dale, that looks like Emerald Lake.

My first ride to the top of Pikes Peak was in a classic car -- a 53 Plymouth. Come to think of it, everyone seemed to be driving a classic that day.

I don't think my mother wanted to get out of the car.
