I will say, my M Coupe was never as much fun to drive as my TR6--I rarely took it out just for fun. So I sold that and got the M Roadster. Much better driving-pleasure-wise, but still not nearly as visceral and engaging as the TR6. Looking at a lotus elise now... I think that might be as close as we get to a modern version of our old british cars.

But neither one of the Lotus examples gets much respect as "a proper bloke's car" I'm afraid. They're STILL percieved as "girly". Mostly by people who've no idea what they're lookin' at nor ever having driven one. :shrugs:

That's not rain in England, that's high humidity.
Tommy, the older Brit gent that apprenticed at the Coventry works, told me that a proper driver never put the top up until stopped/parked. If it was rather wet one put a towel around ones neck and accelerated more briskly.
