Trying to pack in as much as possible while in southern England (just a few days ago), we went from Goodwood to Beaulieu. Beaulieu is the location of the Montagu estate and the grounds for the National Motor Museum. I'd been there before (in 1998) but heard it had been remodeled a few years back. It's now VERY good.

Anyway, one surprise exhibit is outside the main museum building... a Top Gear building. In it were a good many of the cars tortured in the show. Great fun. Here, for example is that Toyota pick-up they tried to destroy (putting it on the top of an imploding building or out to sea). Also included is a amusing Jag. They also had the limo with the bowling alley inside it, the cars they tried to sail across the channel... but there was maybe 50 there.

Forgot to post these two. I suppose they won't mean anything unless you've seen all the shows. That Mini into space was quite the thing (a Reliant). The limo with the bowling alley was a hoot.

The xjs is odd....in that the V-12 has exhaust on both sides....so how did they plumb it all to one side?

I think yer over-thinking this junk. Who knows what's under that hood. One thing is certain, they have a crew of mechanics having a lot of fun.

Reliant Robin to be specific. Hateful thing. Loved that episode.

Of all the cars they had at that exhibit, I figured that was the one that was re-created... since surely little survived the crash.
