top for late BN4/BT7

Hi, I just found this forum and joined. I have a '59 BN4 that I rebuilt in my garage, with disk wheels (thus user name). That was a great 4-year leisure-time experience; now my family and I are enjoying the car on drives. Anyway, I have the factory hardtop but no soft top. I have the top frame that fits into the same tubes as the tonneau cover (it might be from a BT7). I live in a hot climate (South Carolina, 90+ degrees F much of the time), and I've heard of other Healey roadster owners who have obtained (and recommend very highly for the shade and ventilation) soft tops with non-original zip-out rear windows. Problem is I can't find any sources for this. Can anyone help? I'm thinking this might be a solution so I won't have to install air con, which is my wife's request. Thanks.

HI DW59,Welcome to the forum. You might give Heritage Upholstery a call and see if they can whip you up one with the zip out window.Traveling in my BJ8 I also find more comfort driving with the window zipped out and the hood up.--Fwiw---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

We're heading to South Carolina in the morning; BMW Roadster Homecoming at the plant in Spartanburg/Greenville area. Are you anywhere near there?

Randy,

I live in Moore, SC (one exit north from the BMW Plant) and usually stop by the Z 3-4 homecoming. I have a 330ci. You might get some information and bring your Healey back in October for the Euro Fest. I'll try to find you…

We'll be in the black car this year. Arriving at the Embassy Suites Hotel (Greenville) tonight and usually hang out around the cars in the hotel's parking lot prior to things gearing up at the plant. Hope to see you there!

Thanks. I've already tried both Heritage (where I got all my upholstery plus information for installation) and Robbins, with no luck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'm in Columbia, about 100 miles away. I'm hoping to make the Euro there in October. Enjoy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
