too much time on my hands today

I picked up a bug and have been house bound for a few days. Just today started feeling like getting on the computer.

While surfing around I started doing some reading about the small hydrogen generators. It seems that some folks are using some home-made units on their vehicles to improve mileage and increase power. The units look relatively simple to make with some common materials. I am of the belief that when something sounds too good it is to be true it is too good to be true.

Has anyone else looked into this? If it is so great why are more people not doing it? What would be the dangers except maybe a small mushroom shaped cloud where you car used to be?

Ya know, my wife now says that about me :confuse:

I was looking at those to. I got off on some rabbit trail that led me to a series of hydrogen generator videos. My first clue was that the main guy pushing them goes by the name "Fast Freddie".
Still, there's got to be something to it. I don't think it's an answer, but I also don't think they're a total hoax. I need to know more.
One drawback that I do know is that Hydrogen embrittles your engine's components, so if you want to do some experimenting with one of these, I recommend finding some old bomber for a test mule.

Didn't MythBusters do a segment on this?

69tr, ive tried building several of those devices that alleged better gas mileage the only one that realy works for me is the one i invented myself, all ya need is a small hand cart a 12 volt battery,12v fuel pump,a length of hose and a 10 gal. fuel can,an oppening in a neighbors fence,a neighbor that doesnt have a locking fuel cap, and the cover of darkness. :jester:
