MGB Too many cars

I really want a 2 seater or a 2+2 convertible and the Boxster S looks like a good choice for the money. I'm looking at all options and I need suggestions based on experience of any type.
Thanks, Rut

And since you're already considering something other than British, check out a Honda S2000.

Rut, The XK8 is a wonderful car and beautiful. I just did a front shock and mounts plus upper bushings on a friends yesterday. His is pearl white and even my wife fell in love with it. Ours is a blue metallic.
You live very close to the land of plenty, as far as the XK8's go, Florida.
Lots of stuff to look out for, but XKR's after 2003 are the best bargain on the market, in exotics.

If you need some info, go the Jaguar Forum XK8 area and there is a ton of stuff in the top area of the page or give me a call and I'll give you as much of a heads up as I can.

Wayne,
Thanks, not wanting to look at an xk8 since I like smaller cars like the Porsche, Audi TT, Z4, Miata, etc.

Boy, did I open a can of worms on the home front! My wife wants me to look at all options in that price range and I'm kinda losing interest. I'm happy with my B and have the Bugeye coming home from paint next week, so I'll be busy putting it together. That gives me plenty of time to look at cars and think about what I want to do.
Thanks, Rut

That's a good problem to have. Gives you plenty of time to think things through and test drive some cars you find interesting. The best position, really, to have approval and time -- that way if/when something comes up that really sparks an interest you can move on it.

The new Miatas really interest me. Maybe when my Jeep is paid off...

I have a 2001 Boxster S, two MGB roadsters, a TR4, TR3a, Bugeye, Etype and Morgan and the one I drive the most is the Boxster. Mine is a 2001 and I replaced the IMS bearing with an uprated unit when the clutch was replaced. The boxster is not worth so much that you can't drive it every day and I am not afraid of parking it anywhere. If you are looking for a two seat roadster, I highly recommend the Boxster. The cars before some time in 2001 have a stronger two row IMS bearing and the cars produced from some point in 2005 and later, until 2009, have a stronger IMS bearing that is much less likely to fail. My friend bought a bargain XK8 and had the computer go south on him. The repair estimates were in excess of $8000 so he junked the car.
