Too hot

Was going to get Miss Agatha cleaned up. It is too hot for words in the garage, no way.

Another month and it will be nice again. Think I will look into an A/C for the garage next year.

I've been thinking a/c for next year too Jack. You are right,
it's just too hot in the garage in the summer.

I think it is more the humidity where you guys live than anything else. I used to live in Louisiana (Bossier City) as well as Florida (Orlando....while in Navy) and the humidity almost killed me! It gets hot up here in Colorado, but the humidity is almost non-existent. I can get by without AC in my cars or my house, but you two should definitely get your garages hooked up! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I've got the same problem here Jack. I can't tie into the main level A/C and can't fit a window unit. I'm thinking of cooking up one of those homemade ice water air conditioners. Take the current box fan coil up some copper tubing, add a little pond pump, old cooler, and some ice/water for some cool times in the garage.

The past couple of weeks I've had to wait till after 10PM to work in the garage, and it's still blazing hot. I'm sure my neighbors appreciate it too since I've got the garage doors open and the box fan running wide open.

There is an A/C system that only takes a 4 inch hole in the wall. All else is out side. That is what I am going to look at.

My A/C installers told me. They said it would also be good for like bedrooms that are on the other end of the house from the main A/C or for add ons to the home. We like our bedroom cool.

He had a name for them but I have forgotten.

After 3 weeks in upstate New York, this heat is killin' me! I'm trying to yank the drivetrain from my '78 GT racecar & can't keep the sweat off my glasses.

Well for crying out loud Tony, close the doors and turn on the air.

I know, I know - the GarageMahal has a 3-ton heat pump that's separate from the house itself...

Two weeks ago I got burnt on the tops of my feet while wearing flip flops (Yes, one of the products I sell is sunscreen and I was wearing it, just missed that bit), last weekend I was in jeans & wool jumper and still cold, and today I was just in a pair of shorts... why can't it just be like this for a few weeks...
BTW Jack, if you want to feel a bit cooler, go to Belize for a couple weeks vacation: once you're used to the humidity there it'll feel lovely and cool back in FL! (If you take me up on this advice let me know, I can recommend one of the nicest hotels around, and it's pretty cheap too!)

Just saw a fool on a Harley downtown on I-565 wearing shorts, flip flops & a helmet - doing 70mph!
