Today was the day, drive to Fort Walton High School about 8:30, hot already, for our annual car show. Get things organized and make sure Miss Agatha looks her best both outside

Yep- it got up to almost 63 degrees here today, too darn hot!!! :smile:

Mean while this guy after really looking Miss Agatha over including the pictures in my book and under the hood, under the body, under the hood, etc, comes up to me and says.


I think this is my old car, I bought it new and sold it about 1970 for $600. Now the reason I know this is the damage to the front left inter fender. (You can still see a couple of creases) He said this was done by his neighbor who backed into him with her station wagon. Isn't life intresting.

If that is the case, that is very cool! congrats on the win too.
 
Oh forgot to say, hot as hinges may 98 degrees and about 35 miles one way. Miss Agatha ran like a scalded dog. Temp gage never over 185, 65 miles an hour staying with trafic at 4500 RPM, sounded great. Love her, she is truely a lady.

Was 197 really nice cars from Model Ts to new Mustangs of all types.

Congrats Jack. I'm afraid our northren brethren don't know what hot really is....'cept those that took the all-expense paid Asian vacations in the 60's.
 
Every where I went was hot. vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Sudan, Egypt, Saudi, Ethopia, Jordan, Syria, etc.

Wow, and I really could go on and one, man did not realise so many.
 
Edwards AFB in SoCal was pretty hot too but with 15% humidity it was no biggie!

Yea, spent a few years at Pheonex, AZ no humidity.

So... why not have a "masters" class where the previous year's class winners compete? Not trying to detract from your success, but some people might not want to go to a car show where the same car wins every year.
 
Good idea, Trevor. Some folks have a lot more "resources" to throw at these cars than others, the separate class for previous year winners is great.

The Washington DC MG Club has a "Prince of Wales" class for the previous year's class winners. Tough class in which to win a trophy, but it's a sound idea and opens up the competition.

I'm in the "Prince" class this year, maybe I should wear my tweeds and hobnails? :lol:
 
Not a bad idea at all for an all Brit show, but I refuse to compete with american iron.
