And here is the car after a cleaning...with the same rims...While were at it, anyone know anything about those bumper guards?

As I posted in Paul's thread about wire wheels and a citroen....They were custom made for the car by the PO in France...I had someone a while back that was gunna import them to Germany, but for some reason he backed out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif .....Anyeay I don't mind having them around as they'll fit most MG's with bolt on wheels, and they hold air well...so I can use them as spares on the other cars.

Bumper reminds me of an early VW!

Actually I forgot to mention....I was watching some car road rally or something on the italian channel about a year or so ago...and I saw an MGA with the exact some bumper treatments, probably a European thing

When I lived in Italy I saw quite a few older cars with those bumper extension. Especially in bigger cities where people tend to park by brail. Original Mini's and Fiat 500's had bigger extensions that protected the lights on the corners of the body where they were the most vulernable.

The 'parking by touch' was what I figured it was for...The back has one too if you can see in the top pic...There is even those little extensions to protect the front parking lights....The stuff is very well made, so I think it might have been dealer installed or something as that one MGA I saw on TV had the exact same extensions.

Seeing dent free cars in Rome was a rarity. Not always huge dents but parking 'rubs' and narrow alley 'rubs'.
