The car does not run, is missing some parts has some bad wood and needs total frame off restoration. Basically it's a basket case. I wanted to know what it would be worth after restored to concourse condition. The car is in Ca and he's asking over 28. It's not worth it to me as it would more than likely cost much more than that to restore it. I checked with my paint guy and he figures it would take 6 Gs just to paint it. It might work if it would be worth around 90. Heck I put over 15 in my "B" and you can by parts for them anywhere. Thanks for the info Ron and your intrest Tony. I appreciate it. It's to far and in to bad condition.
But then, when do we LBC nuts pay attention to that?!?!? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
It would be tough STARTING a project with a $28K investment... Based upon your comments the money pit would be very deep in deed.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif
Good grief. $28k for a ground-up resto project car?
I had a XK120 fhc in '68. bought it for $400 running as a bank repo. Took it apart, bought $400 worth of parts, then sold it in a basket 4yrs later for ... $400.
There is no way you could get a quality resto done on a Jag for much less than $90k. There's a TF here locally that had that much spent on it.
I love that specific car model, as a buddy of mine, who's folks had a ton of money, bought him a new one when he got his drivers license back in 1955. We had a lot of fun in that car. Lots of memories. Would you believe we took our girl friends cruising with us in it. I mean BOTH of them! Don't ask me how we did it, but it was fun. Ahhh, sweet memories, life is nothing but sweet memories!
