Moss cat list manual fuel pump 377-390 at $68.95

next line down is rebuild kit 377-395 for $123.95

hmmm... manual fuel pump? sounds like it'd make for an interesting drive... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif
 
Same thing on the moss site (spridget parts). Weird that the rebuild kit is twice what the pump is. Maybe the rebuild kit is for the original pump, but the Whole pump they sell is one of them chinese imports.
 
377-395 is a rebuild kit for the OE pump; 377-390 is an aftermarket pump they source domestically that does not have the priming OE lever on it.
 
I just knew somehow you would have the answer. I remember very distenctly paying less that $10 for those pumps back in the 1960's. New at the Austin dealer.
 
I wasn't far off. Wow $60+ for just the lever... That's worse than hiway robbery. It's just stamped steel right?

Also, if they import parts from china, and have them made domestically, why do they claim their prices go up because of the Dollar-vs-Pound?
 
Actually, they get the pump from a domestic vendor...& the rebuild kit is SU

But, my question on the exchange rate based price variations (from one catalog to the next) is still valid.
