I met Tonto today, photos tomorrow... Now guess which Tonto? Think outside of the box... :wink-new:

The Original New Timbral Orchestra?

Yup... That Tonto... :encouragement: I went on a tour of the National Music Centre as referenced in the video, and I did get photos... Won't get a chance to edit photos until later today, off to work...

Don't feel bad Bas, I had no idea who they were either. I was expecting a Lone Ranger post.

hmmm - not sure it's a "them". I think it's a "thing" (a synthesizer)

Tonto is a homemade music synthesizer, it has been a movie star and also been on album covers... Many musicians have recorded with it, most famously Stevie Wonder in mid 1970's, creating some signature sounds...

Did I promise photos? Here you go...

Tonto with the tour guide doing his thing:

The tour guide creating a little music, using buttons and cords, etc... Yes it still works (my favourite photo of Tonto that I took yesterday):

Also check out this link, the Switched On Bach album, all recorded on Tonto...

Ha. I had forgotten about Switched on Bach. I have that album on open reel tape somewhere. Tape player died years ago though.

I had the Switched on Bach on vinyl. I thought it was done on the Moog Syn. Is that the same thing?
