Well, I have a perfect one, whats it good for. Should i sell it no damages noting, its behind me right now Perfect condition or use it? What do they go for? What can I use it for?

full tonneau? If it's a full tonneau then you can use it to cover the interior of your car while you're not in it with the top down. I've seen some that'll let you uncover the drivers side so you can drive and the passenger side will stay on. So its easier to cover the entire cockpit when you get to your destination. I would consider it a factory optional cockpit cover that you can't get with any of the modern cars. For example, if you want to cover the cockpit of a Miata without putting the roof up you'll have to get a cockpit cover to do it. With our Bs you have the full tonneau cover...

I wouldn't use it to store the car outdoors in thunder stormr, but its a handy thing to have for when your out and about, going to leave the car unattend but don't want to fuss with the convertible top.

I don't currently have one, but if I did I'd use it all summer long out here.

I have mine on at the moment, it is the split type that allows you to undo just the drivers side, although I undo all the front so I can hear the stereo, like Rob said they are very handy, I have my soft top folded down underneath it in case of rain!

I use my split type cover all summer long.
I tend to keep the passenger side covered, very useful to keep your groceries from cooking in the searing sun, then I just zip up 'my' side if I leave her somewhere for any length of time. Keeps the interior a bit cooler and protects it in general.
And kbash, it looks cool! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have two...a lightwieght one that I have on the car all the time...and a heavier one that is good for longer term storage and protection. I use it all the time, as I have not had the top up since I put it on the car two years ago. A little ArmorAll and it looks great...and is distinctly British ;-)

I concur with Bruce, it's one accessory that is distinctivly British and will make your 'B stand out from the crowd of Miatas. Mt TR4A currently has just the top cover, but once I complete the interior and add the roll bar I will include a full tonneau for that 'Classic British Roadster' look /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
BTW, is that the Miata you have marked R.I.P. in your sig? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Once my top comes down for driving season, my tonneau goes on & stays on - top never goes back up...sometimes early in morning, I'll run with passenger side closed up & heater on...whenever I park, I always put it up to keep seats from getting hot or the occassional shower from getting in

...keep it, Keenan...you'll learn to love it!

I have a full tonneau cover too in “almost” new (never used) condition. Always liked them but the problem I have is that I can’t use it with the rollbar. Well without making some “modifications” anyway, so when I have the top down I normally (99% of the time) just stick with the top cover.

Not that I think of it - my top cover is getting a bit tired looking and am considering a replacement soon.

I'll think I'll keep it, Its the orginal and the other owner never used it in the 28 years he had the car.

So, I can use it while I'm at work, If it rains alittle bit eh? I work in the BIG city, would it be better it kee that one while I'm at the store or risk the top getting slashed? Or something.

Yeah, I realized that a stock tonneau won't work with a rollbar, so I planned on having a custom one made - as far as that goes I plan on a custom rollbar with an integrated windstop and 3rd stoplight. Ambitious, eh? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Roll bars , I really dont see the point beside looks on a uni body. I cant have one tho, I would hit my head on it.

Well talk you guys later, time to switch class's.

As both a Miata and MGB owner, I should point out that the reason a Miata doesn't come with a tonneau cover is that you don' t need it! It's much quicker to just put the top up! Or down. With a 'B, however, it's really useful...although I rarely use mine....

I've got tonneaus for all my MG's....I've even got some extras(TR6 and MGB)...but I don't use them to much, I usually keep the tops up (can't be bother to fight with it to get it down properly)The only car I ALWAYS have the top down is the white A and the tonneau for that is an old MOSS job that doesn't fit very good(you need to be wrestler to get the **** thing to reach across)so I usually just drop it over the seats to keep the sun off.
I bought 2 rollbars for my B's a while back an haven't installed them yet, but when I do I'll get the full tonneaus modified to fit around them.

Well, I would agree that rollbar debate will never be fully settled & remain a hot topic for debate.

But while I admit that I originally installed mine for its cosmetic merits that I happen to like. I was surprised to discover that it actually helped to stiffen up the body quite a bit and noticed that it actually helped curb body flex & roll under heavy cornering. Is that a reason for everyone to rush out and purchase one? No, just pointing out one benefit that I discovered.

Now should someone come up with an attractive way to modify the tonneau cover that will accommodate a rollbar & doesn’t look like a hack job please post some pictures?

oh yeah... who could have forgotten about EmGeBe's Ausie B with a tonneau modified to fit around his roll bar. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

wonder how that guy is doing these days...
