Tonneau Cover use

When I bought my Spit, it came with a Tonneau Cover. Finnaly trying to use it. When the top is down, are you supposed to unbutton the top from the rear rail/bracket, and slip the rag top off, then button the three buttons on the Tonneau Cover to the rail?

No. The top should be fastened to that rail with the rivets holding those three snaps. The snaps should not be on the body itself, nor should they be separate from the top. Perhaps a previous owner got creative with a new top installation on your car!?

This assumes that you've a Mk3 or later Spitfire....

Yeah, this owner apparently got creative with his installation (me). I remember how it came apart now! I installed snaps on the back rail, and the top snaps to that. I don't have a tonneau cover yet, though.

thanks, I just pressed harder and the three snaps went on, at first they didnt look like the size matched, and didnt want to force them.
