Tonneau bar and your convertible top cover

Yeah... So, after getting some small bits that have been missing from my car. I finally was able to install the tonneau bar under the top cover. When I did so, the top cover didn't seem to fit correctly anymore. The leading edge bunched up behind the bar and ended up not looking nice at all. Am I using this tonneau bar incorrectly? Is it only for use with a full tonneau? Just curious, because it seemed to fit better without the bar in place...

The top cover does not require the tonneau bars. The only time you need the tonneau bars is when you have the full tonneau pulled back. Even then you don't really "need" them. I use tonneau bars because I have a stowaway top so when the top is down (in the boot) there is nothing to support the tonneau.
