well, ever since the car started running again in October she was leaking oil from the tranny. I mean a puddle on the driveway. To be truthful I assumed it was because I tried to top up the transmission through the gear lever - which I thought you could do - but apparently that's a 1275 trick, not a 1500. Anyway, I initially figured it was just a bit of overflow. It wasn't, but not a huge deal I didn't worry too much. Anyway, tonight I crawled under it and low and behold a bolt was missing between the shifter mechanism and the transmission. For some reason I had not noticed this at all. The car is a California/Florida car and when I dismantled her many bolts were loose and some were missing having rattled loose over time. I presume that is what happened here. Anyway, new bolt and tighten the others (which needed snugging) and I hope we're all good.

Fortunately it was high enough up that it didn't drain the tranny. But, just when I figure I have seen/ heard it all something else comes along. I also am amazed at the number of reasons I have found so far why this car should have been unstartable/ seriously damaged - but she seemed to keep going. I read something recently where a Ferrari engineer said he thought car parts had memory so they worked together even when they shouldn't. He said the memory was lost when the car was pulled apart and reassembled. Hopefully my parts will make new memories soon.

I'm afraid mine is developing alhemizers..........

With apologies ...

Memories,
Like the twisty corners of my mind

Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered engine parts,
Across the miles we left behind.....

miles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time replated every brake line?

If we had the money to do it all again
Tell me, will swmbo let me?
Memries, may be expensive and yet
Its way too painful to keep tallyy

We simply choose to forget
So its the miles
We will remember
Whenever we remember...
The way we were...

lol

I'm speechless
