Here is a pic of race car #3. In ITS you come up against Porche 944, Nissan Z cars, 13B powered RX7, and BMW 325is mostly, but there is a ton of other oddball stuff. For those keeping score, here is as quick run down. Car #1 was a white TR7 coupe powered by a 16 Valve Dolomite 2 liter with webers, headers, cam, etc. It later got a built 3.5. The car was stripped down with lots of fiberglass. It was an absolute rocket, but didn't fit any SCCA class. Car #2 was a yellow and green TR8 coupe identicle to the one I have now. I hit a cement barrier nose first with that one thanks to a Mustang. Bought #3 from a fella in Louisiana. It had previous crash damage and was a real handful to drive. I smacked the side of the rear bumper against a cement wall at over 100 MPH. It bent the rear fenders and tail light panel, which I rebuilt with the rear clip from #2. That car was never fast enough, so I cut it up and put the pieces from #2 and #3 onto a clean TR7 coupe body shell. I call that car #4, but as far as the SCCA is concerned, it is still #2. Same color, same parts, same roll cage, different body tub. By the way, the TR7 shell I used was such an early car, that the glove box tire pressure plate said BULLET and not TR7 2V. The remains of #3, along with it's logbook, sit in my basement. Maybe someday I will reshell that one as well.
