Sent a shock off to PeterC for rebuild. He opened it and found nothing but powder. But he has another so all is well, maybe Peter will post the pic here. It was awful.

Heading to garage to open the others and see if they are ok before I ship them off, seems I can hear liquid in them anyway.

Oh, forgot, Peter said it was powder coated inside, lol.
 
Jack, it's not the worst we've seen, but the worst usually come from some salvage yard. I can't believe this was in "service". Enjoy.

There is just no telling how many years ago it was in "service". Jolly said the roller had been in that corner as long as he rememberd and golly knows where it was prior to that.

The good news is the rest of the shocks seem to be just fine, full of clean oil and operate smoothly.
