There was a model airplane swap meet at the local university....over 400 vendors selling stuff and demonstration flights of heliocopters and airplanes....everything from small starter planes to over 8' wingspan planes...every type engine and doodad you'd need was there along with unfinished kits.

I have a 17' tall ceiling going into the new garage apartment/gameroom we're building for our soon-to-be 3 year old grandson.

& I've wanted to hang some nice airplanes from that tall ceiling; so, below is a photo of the ceiling while it's under construction. And today's finds!! When he gets ready, they're all flyable!

When the ceiling & painting is finished, a friend who's into flying big planes said he'd come over to help me hang them from the ceiling.

Enjoy!

Love that "Bent Wing Bird". That thing's huge!

I've had a good size electric RC helicopter for about 6 months...so far I can only hover, and the Winter weather has kept be away from it.

But anyway, these things are fun! It looks like some of us are "grown up kids"!

That's a double bed those 2 WWII planes are hanging off the edgesof; the WWI biplane wingspan is close to 4' (look at how it dwarfs the rocking chair behind it) & the F22's wingspan is almost 4' also. They're all big birds!

The 2 on the bed both have retractable landing gear - the Corsair's gear rotates & retracts.

No guests in that bedroom until they're all hanging from the ceiling.

Awesome!

Is the F-22 jet / fan powered?

Lucky kid!
Yep, 2 ducts.

Neat, Tony. This is all I've got on my ceiling. Not high enough for anything except in the corner. This one has a 5' wingspan - I'll finish it one day (the Jenny I started has a 7' wing, yikes).

hehehe...the other night he walked up to me (as I was sitting on the sofa watching TV) with his right index finger curved into a hook & his tiny plastic pirate sword in his left hand. In a low voice, he commented <span style="font-style: italic">"curse you Peter Pan"</span> as he swung his sword at me. I threw up my hand to block his sword and still have a pretty good nick on my left thumb!

I went into his mom's kitchen & grabbed a large wooden stirring spoon, went back into his game room there, yelled <span style="font-style: italic">"I'll get you this time Capt. Hook"</span> and engaged him in a healthy battle until he ran to his grandmother for protection.

But, honestly, at that moment if I had a real hook, he'd be hanging from it!

Yeah, but I'm not planning on hanging that thing from my ceiling!

So, size <span style="font-weight: bold">IS</span> revelant!

Tony, LOL.... very funny! Thanks for the laugh.

That's ok, Elliot's sailplane wing would dwarf most everyone's lightplanes anyway

Thanks Scott; I just didn't want to brag
