While watching over my sholder for Hurricans I am:

Trying to get ready to pull Miss Agathas engine to solve my oil leak, I think, I think it has to be a cracked oil pump cover joint. Will be awile yet as I think the weather will not be cool enough till Oct.

Anyway I pulled the back plate off of my spare engine and noted that it was nicely preserved with a covering of oil. The oil pump is orginal and no repainting has ever been done. It has to be an orginal engine never tampered with if my inspection is correct. Nice safety wire on the rear scroll seal.

Anyway, I when looking, was struck by the thought that these parts had not seen the light of day for about 49 years. Propound that, heh.

Intresting aside, that's three parts I have needed off that engine so far. It's now preaty well down to basics. So easy with a blaster to clean them up and make em like new.

Guess I am a bit loanly down here, looking forward to a car show weekend after this if the weather permits. I need to talk to folks face to face about cars.

I understand where you're coming from Jack, and with hurricanes threatening you guys down there it doesn't make matters easier. Hopefully the weather will stay clear so you can meet up with some car crazy folks like the rest of us.

It's always handy to have a spare engine laying around. Always interesting to see the differences in them too.
