Winter? Winter? Jack please

Spring is here??? I have over a foot of snow in my yard and my driveway has a half inch thick sheet of ice on it. The limbs of my trees are still hanging down to the ground under the weight of the snow an ice and many of my neighbors don't have electricity...

Jack, what's this "after the winter" stuff! We've got fresh snow here today, I get to shovel when I get home. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

2/3 of the oak leaves have fallen now. By next week we'll have a six inch ground cover. It's officially spring: pollen count thru the roof.

*ACHOO!*

*SNEEF*

scrape off the grass, pour concrete
paint it green.

Cover it with cotton balls in the winter
for snow effect.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif "Spring is here, Wheeeeee." I can't wait until you get into July and August!!! So there.

P.S. I took Agatha to her mechanic on Thursday of last week (top down of course) and brought her home on Friday. Because I am such an honest person, I'll admit I wore a winter jacket, driving gloves and ear warmers. I had a great time in spite of the quizical stares.

No grass here! We refuse to spend resources on anything not indigenous. If it don't grow on its own, it ain't around. Putting the next generation's drinking water on it for the sake of a "green lawn" seems absurd. Water oaks, scrub palms and ferns. Lots of Philadendron-like vines, azaleas, some bamboo and "banana plamts". Oh, and a mango stripling and a 30 year old aloe vera.

Not indigenous, but highly adaptive! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Taint any signs of spring here! snow's piling up.

I wish there weren't signs of spring! Another beautiful day in the 70's sunny breezy and I'm not driving my Midget.

I've got neighbors who mow their lawns twice a week,
& water them all of the time in the Summer.
I,on the other hand,mow only when things start dissapearing.Last time I mowed.I found 2 trees,a bicycle,
& a couple of kids!
Only have to mow once more this year (semi-annual event).

Lawn is just space where no garage has yet been built!!

Tuesday night.....Wednesday night...Thursday night....Friday night....ALABAMA!!!!

Geez, Doug! I never find anything worthwhile when I average out the weed height 'round here. I'm envious. My semi-annual 'mowing' just reveals the occasional tree root: *CLUNK!* "RATS! Now I remember where that thing is..." /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

How about if you were to de-forest the kudzu? Ya might find an Alfa!

I call it my outsized Chia Pet.
