Today is my 40th birthday! Woo hoo!

Don't mean to rain on your party but as soon as you turn 40 and a day things start hurting you didn't know you had, don't work like they did yesterday

Uh, no.

I used to be a competitive downhill skier in my 20s. I've had more knee surgeries than I can count... Several ACL reconstructions - autografts and cadaver grafts, meniscus tears and removals. Titanium screws, plates, bone grafts, morphine pumps - I've had it all. I've slowed down in my 30's so I think the early 40s will be a breeze (so long as I can keep up with my kids).

Carpe Diem!

Ahhh, 40, piece of cake! Enjoy it! (If I recall correctly, I did!) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Just wait young man, just wait!! All those injuries in your youth that you forgot about will, on occasion, come back just to remind you of byegone days /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif !! Especially in places like Krakow in wintertime!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

I, like a lot of other fellows I know stopped having birthdays! Were waiting for all the rest of you youngsters to catch up!

Scott! It looks like there are others who are enjoying it with you and you couldn't ask for anything better.

Scott:

I'll add my <s>condolences</s> uh, congratulations as well.

I just turned 40 at the begining of the month (9/4). I did better at work (my co-workers just took me to lunch), but worse at home (my present was a surprise party) ... I guess my wife thought I was turning 4.

To celebrate you should go buy a car from your birth year ... how about a TR4A or Austin Healey 3000? ...

Anyway, Happy Birthday!

Matt

For my 40th,my Wife gave me a surprise party.
One friend gave me a "multiple" gift.

He gave me a "Rescue Kit" for my TR6

1.A quarter to call home on (this was before cell phones).
2.A picture of my Wife & kids (in case I never saw
them again).
3. An umbrella - since it will probably be raining
when it quits.
4. A flashlight - since it WILL be dark outside.
5.A really bad novel to read, while waiting for the tow truck.
6.A hammer to hit the fuel pump with.
7.And a pint of English beer to enjoy, when all else fails.
